Making this short film left me thinking a lot. What if I were in that situation? Would I feel the same way? I think it was very interesting to share a story like this, because we felt the feelings that we want to share in our short film.
Juliana Aguilar:
Making my first short film was an incredible opportunity that I would never forget. It makes me realize how even a short or simple production requires a lot of time, effort and video skills. We had fun doing it because we learned a lot but there were also times when we got frustrated because of the weather, lighting and audio. But overall the experience was unique and exciting.
BEHIND THE SCENES
It wasn’t hard to plan this short film, because we wanted to create a story were someone knows how to manage its feelings in a situation.
We wanted to make a love story were a couple are so happy that they would never expect a tragedy. Of course, Ryan Weber (the husband) will have terrible moments of loneliness and frustrations after his wife passes away in front of him.
It is very sad to know that after having an awesome wedding, an awesome love story, their love story has reach to an end. Even though it sounds dramatic, we wanted to focus on someone that overcomes a bad situation.
It wasn’t hard to shoot this film, the weather was a little uncomfortable sometimes but it helped us in some way. The couple that we used as main actors are married, so it wasn’t hard to had them laying in bed, kissing, or getting married.
We had to use a lot of lighting, lots of plastic bags to cover our cameras, lots of clothing, lots of help from reporters of Scroll Digital and also a lot of driving.
It was fun to be in 5 different places in one day. Being at the cemetery wasn’t easy, because there was a sad feeling once we entered there. We asked our main actor, Ryan, to cry and pretend he was crying on his wife tombstone. IT wasn’t hard because there were a lot of wind and his eyes got watery very easily.
His wife came with us to all the places we had to shoot our footage and also she helped us a lot. Probably the most difficult scene was, when a car hits the wife. We had to shoot that scene at lest 10 times.
Beverages and food were given every day to the crewmembers and actors. That helped to maintain everyone positive and energy.
We are expecting good results from this short film, we hope that everyone can enjoy it
